Activity: The Energy Crisis:Fact or Fiction, and what you can do about it?
An overview of the world's energy environment from a petroleum/geology standpoint and some current technologies concerning them, particulary CO2 sequestration. This activity will address common misconceptions concerning our energy environment and how we as students can make a difference. Different paths to jobs in the energy industry will be discussed.

Background: Ms. Hernandez is a 2nd year graduate student in the Dept. of Petroleum and Geosystems Engineering at UT Austin where she is currently working on CO2 Sequestration with Dr. Steven Bryant. She graduated from Trinity University in San Antonio with a BS in Engineering Science and a BA in Chinese. She is a 2004 graduate of Pleasanton High School in Pleasanton, Texas.
